Purpose: The Technology Helpdesk Technician's primary purpose is support to over 1,500 students, teachers, support staff and administration throughout the district. This position is mostly an office role that will focus on account creation, mobile device and inventory management. Strong organizational skills are a must.

Supervisor: Director of Technology.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A+ certification a plus but not required.

Essential Functions:
  • Account creation, including onboarding/offboarding of users.
  • Mobile device management (MacOS and iOS).
  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and moving PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, peripherals such as projectors, network printers and other equipment in Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, and Google for Education environments.
  • Work with the Network Administrator to troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues including running and terminating network wiring.
  • Support end users of software such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other applications.
  • Work and prioritize tasks via a Help Desk ticket system to include documenting and recording all repairs and end user requests.
  • Travel to any of the locations within the district for support, repair and/or transport of equipment.
  • Respond to end user needs in a professional and respectful manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform PC imaging and install software applications locally and/or over the network.
  • Assist in procurement, as well as maintaining a district-wide software and hardware inventory.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.

Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

The usual methods of performing the job of Technology Helpdesk Technician may require the following physical demands:
  • Minimal amount(s) of: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling.
  • Moderate amount(s) of: fine finger dexterity, repetitive motion(s), walking, bending/squatting.
